As the UK Financial Controller, reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you will:

  • Manage the UK finance team, with five direct reports, covering the management accounting for six businesses, accounts receivable, accounts payable and project accounting
  • Prepare monthly management accounts for two businesses, presenting clear analysis to the Managing Directors’ and to the Board
  • Set up monthly project reviews for assigned business units to ensure the accuracy and completeness of revenue recognition, work in progress and invoicing
  • Calculate monthly commissions and liaise with the payroll department for timely payment to employees
  • Ensure monthly balance sheet reconciliations are completed and proactively follow up on any reconciling items
  • Work closely with other stakeholders in the business including the Managing Directors’, credit control, treasury, tax and group reporting functions
  • Verify the integrity and accuracy of the financial statements by investigating variances, identifying and solving issues, and ensuring that all transactions are accounted for in compliance with Group policies and practices
  • Liaise with external auditors on the audit of the Group’s Annual and Interim financial statements
  • Prepare cash forecasting reports
  • Ensure local tax compliance and prepare R&D tax claims in conjunction with the group tax department
  • Assist with the annual budget and in–year reforecasting
  • Drive process enhancements and improve efficiencies
  • Provide daily support to internal and external customers and maintain consistent, prompt and accurate service levels to promote customer satisfaction
  • Prepare supplementary management information packs
  • Ad hoc projects as required

The successful candidate will have:

  • A professional qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with 5+ years PQE in a relevant position
  • Excellent people management skills, with the ability to develop and challenge a team
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • The willingness and ability to delve into detail as well as to delegate where appropriate
  • Strong organisational skills and be deadline driven
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP
  • Exceptional MS Excel skills; competent and efficient at dealing with data from different sources
  • Strong interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills and business acumen

LTG operates a flexible working policy whereby employees may work remotely but will be expected to attend the office regularly albeit with increased frequency around key reporting dates. The role will be based from the Brighton office; you may be required to travel to other group offices occasionally.
