Job role

A Trainee Learning Designer works with a multi-disciplinary team of Learning Designers, Developers, Digital Designers and Project Managers to write interactive content that meets client requirements, exceeds expectations and is delivered to schedule and budget.

The Trainee Designer will be involved in a variety of projects and will undertake tasks including: copywriting and editing, authoring content using LEO’s proprietary tools as well as off-the-shelf authoring tools, revising content and meeting with clients.

Main duties

  • Create sparkling copy from raw content, adapting tone and style to match client requirements
  • Under guidance from a more senior learning designer, convert raw content into learning assets, such as case studies, demonstrations, scenarios and step-by-step guides
  • Devise questions and scenarios to test learner understanding of material
  • Identify and source appropriate visuals to support learning
  • Proofread and carry out edits to content to adapt copy and fix errors where required
  • Prepare alpha builds for testing
  • Create audio, photo and video briefs
  • Source props and assist with audio recordings, as well as photo and video shoots
  • Provide effective support in client review meetings
  • Deliver a first-class customer service experience at all times
  • Perform other duties as required by the learning design team
