We are looking for an In-House Group Legal Counsel to join our corporate team on a full-time, direct basis.

In this role, you will work on a range of LTG business matters alongside a small, global team of in-house Counsels and Paralegals. Since we are a leading technology and content services organization with an international presence, your duties will vary: you will be asked to contribute to the drafting and negotiation of commercial agreements, assist with compliance matters, etc. This role offers the opportunity to do challenging and interesting work: the global and diverse nature of our organization will require cross-border contracting and an understanding of laws in multiple jurisdictions.

What will you be doing?

  • Drafting, negotiating, and closing complex (buyer and vendor) commercial agreements with customers located across the globe, including but not limited to Software-as-a-Service Agreements, Software Licensing Agreements, Data Protection Agreements, Content Licensing Agreements, Professional Services Agreements, and Partner Agreements (the different risk profiles of our various businesses require a good business understanding and solid judgement to each time get to the right solutions).
  • Dealing with such legal matters throughout the group as may come up during the course of its business, including supporting HR Legal Issues, Litigation, Company Secretarial Work, corporate activity, and general legal advisory.
  • Pro-actively mitigating the Company's legal risks.
  • Take on additional tasks, as needed.

About You

We expect you to have qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales (or equivalent Law Degree) and have at least 2-5 years of professional experience working in a legal-oriented position (e.g. Legal Counsel, Attorney, Lawyer, Legal Consultant, etc.). Experience negotiating SaaS agreements is required.

We would like (but don't require) you to have

  • Advanced understanding in the enterprise software space, especially of related legal frameworks & risks.
  • Exposure to global teams; advanced understanding of GDPR, CCPA, and other data privacy regulations is a plus!
  • Experience in cross-border commercial contracting.
  • Excellent skills in contract drafting as well as negotiation.
  • Exposure to broad areas of corporate affairs (e.g. HR matters, business disputes, compliance matters, etc.); proven ability to pragmatically & effectively support a variety of legal business issues is a plus!
  • Proven ability to contribute as a Team Player while simultaneously working independently.
  • Proven ability to client-focused; willingness to work after-hours on occasion to respond to business needs is a plus.
  • Proven ability to display an enthusiastic and proactive personality while at work.
  • Advanced Commercial Awareness and Business Acumen are strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (both written and verbal). Spanish language skills is a plus!
