As an Account Executive in North America, you will be responsible for growing Open LMS’s extensive client base in your territory. You’ll have access to an extensive portfolio of powerful, flexible products -- together delivering a solid mix of sales opportunities at varying prospect-to-close timelines.

Specifically, you will build an executive-level understanding of client challenges in supporting enterprise-level e-Learning and positioning our solutions and technical services over time to achieve mutual success. You will be the single executive point of prospective customer contact and will engage with our Solutions Engineers, Consulting, and Services teams to help close opportunities within your territory.

Key Accountabilities

The key accountabilities of this role encompass duties that principally relate to the job purpose and may include other duties that are incidental or peripheral to the job purpose.

Duties of this role will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Qualify, pursue and close sales opportunities within your territory
  • Exceed monthly, quarterly and annual sales quotas
  • Engage with technical and/or executive team members in complex sales scenarios
  • Develop client proposals that effectively communicate our products and offer customized solutions for each unique prospective client
  • Use/maintain internal sales tools (salesforce.com) for CRM and pipeline management
  • Engage in ongoing, self-directed monitoring of the marketplace and competitor developments
  • Regularly engage with product management to deliver intelligence on prospective client needs

Key Result Areas

Performance objectives are based on the key accountabilities above and are aligned to organisational and team objectives. Individual performance measures and behavioural standards will be discussed and reviewed on a periodic basis in accordance with the Open LMS Performance Development Policy and Procedure.

Job Criteria

  • Be kind, constructive, thoughtful and honest.
  • Has experience with enterprise solution or technical sales
  • Posses a deep understanding of working in an educational technology context with significant professional experience in the broader education sector (e.g. teaching, management, services, program management, consulting)
  • Has excellent oral and written presentation skills with a high attention to detail and time management
  • Has experience maintaining effective working relationships at senior management levels and demonstrated success closing sales in a market where hitting growth goals will require displacing an existing product.
  • Professional networks with IT or L&D buyers, or professional experience with Learning Management Systems; previous Moodle-based solution experience is a plus
  • Can travel up to 25% (when safe)
