Role Description

As an Associate QA Specialist, you will be responsible for the delivery of the Scrum team commitments. You will analyze business needs and collaborate with the Product Owner to create test plans, cases, and scripts, and their acceptance criteria along with manual testing execution. Additionally, you will help the Consulting Services team to do QA for tailored solutions for customers.

What you’ll be doing

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Creating detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases.
  • Executing manual tests and analyzing results.
  • Reviewing requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.
  • Maintaining and extending the regression test suite.
  • Recommending, implementing, and monitoring preventative and corrective actions to ensure that quality assurance standards are achieved.
  • Ensuring that user expectations are met during the testing process.
  • Detecting and reporting bugs or defects throughout the development process.


Skills and Aptitudes

The Candidate will have these required skills:

  • Has a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
  • Has previous experience in Quality Assurance as an analyst or engineer
  • Has excellent problem-solving skills
  • Has excellent writing, communication, and analytical skills
  • Is familiar with issue tracking, testing techniques, and operating systems
  • Familiarity with Agile software development life cycle is preferred
  • Fluency in written and spoken English

We’re looking for an Associate Quality Assurance Specialist to help us push the boundaries of what education can offer through the power of technology. Education is our passion and our team members bring that to work each day as they aim to advance learning in every region of the world.

As a member of our QA team, you’ll focus on providing support for test development and execution against Open LMS' new feature and legacy system releases. As Associate QA Specialist, you will be responsible for analyzing end user requirements and customer reported defects to design and executing manual or automated test strategies across a variety of architectures and cutting-edge technologies. You’ll design, develop, execute, report, and debug functional, mobile, browser, accessibility and localization tests.

You will work hand in hand with our development team as well as other QA staff to provide and review assignments, provide and receive training on feature functionality and test development techniques, and participate in quality reviews of test plans and scripts. You will estimate Level of Effort (LOE) for test/script development, test execution, and other activities central to their assigned tasks and collaborate with Product Design and Engineering teams to advocate for the development of high-quality, testable deliverables.

The Candidate:

  • Required skills/qualifications:
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Any experience in Quality Assurance as an analyst or engineer
  • Exposure to testing web-based software applications in a SaaS architecture and on mobile devices
  • Any experience with automation framework and automated testing tools
  • Any experience analyzing code coverage of automated tests and static code analysis
  • A basic knowledge of Java programming or scripting languages
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
