We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Web Developer to work with one of a number small agile teams maintaining multiple web applications on a part-time freelance basis.

As an agency we often have work come in with little notice with fast turnaround times. To support this, we run a number of small SCRUM teams that work collaboratively to deliver on these requirements.

We have a number of ongoing and future opportunities to work with one of these teams on a freelance basis, and can accommodate a variety of working patterns and hours per week based upon your availability.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about delivering high quality code with a great eye for detail in the implementation of web UI, is self motivated and can work autonomously, but most importantly understands how to work collaboratively as part of a small team.

We’ll be looking for someone who, as the working pattern allows, can join daily standup calls with the team to agree on priority and ownership of tasks and discuss progress, then deliver on development tasks that they have committed, within the timescales they have agreed. If you’re successful, we’ll also expect you to participate in code reviews of both your own code and that produced by other members of the team.

As a small agile team, we are also looking for someone who is comfortable sharing their experience, especially around best practices for developing and delivering software.

What do you need?

  • JavaScript/Typescript: This is the foundation of much of our application development, so extensive industry experience here is key. We use this in a number of forms but mainly:
    • React for the frontend
    • Express for the backend
  • HTML/SASS: Seems obvious, but we are serious about high quality HTML to ensure that we can deliver enterprise level experiences that are accessible to all.

Additional skills that we look for

Whilst not critical, these tools are a big part of the work we do, and we’ll be looking favourably on any experience you have with these.

  • GraphQL
  • Git
