The Finance Manager is a senior role within the finance function of Learning Technologies Group (‘LTG’). LTG is a rapidly growing, international business with a market capitalization of approximately $1.8 billion. The Finance Manager will be the key point of contact between the Finance function and the various operational Business Units within the Group. The successful candidate will deal directly with the Managing Directors (‘MD’s’) and other senior officers within the Business Units and will have the responsibility for analyzing, understanding and presenting monthly financial results to the MD’s. The Finance Manager will be the liaison between the needs of Finance and the needs of the MD’s and provide support as needed in areas that include, but not limited to, revenue recognition, operating expense analytics (actual to budget), commissions, budgeting and forecasting. Depending on the requirements of the Business Unit the Finance Manager may have line management responsibilities. The Finance Manager is responsible for making sure that issues are identified, escalated and resolved in a timely manner.

The Finance Manager will report to the U.S Director of Finance and work closely with the US Controller in establishing internal controls and policies and procedures in accordance with Sarbanes Oxley.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a liaison between Finance and the Managing Directors of the U.S. Business Units.
  • Assist the U.S Corporate Controller with the monthly preparation of the U.S. financial statements.
  • Prepare monthly business analytics, flux analysis and other ad-hoc reports as required and present these to the Business Units.
  • Assist the Managing Directors with understanding their financial results and assist them with ad-hoc reports to help them understand their underlying business matrix to help them drive growth.
  • Assist the U.S. Controller and U.S. Director of Finance in establishing and maintaining an internal control matrix in accordance with Sarbanes Oxley.
  • Assist with position papers and other technical memorandums in accordance with U.S. GAAP / IFRS statutory regulations and company policies and practices.
  • Assist with tax compliance and audit requirements.
  • Assist with the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Participate in M&A due diligence process and business integrations as required. Project manage integration work streams for Finance as needed.
  • Integrate the finance systems and processes of any newly acquired businesses into the Group
  • Other ad hoc projects as required
  • This role will be based in Raleigh, NC.

Requirements:

  • CPA (or equivalent) required with big four experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in industry required with at least 3 years in a similar role.
  • Must be proactive, detail-oriented, and able to execute efficiently in a fast paced environment.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS accounting standards.
  • Strong technical skills; experience with NetSuite and Salesforce preferred.
  • Excellent Excel skills with knowledge of pivot tables and advanced macros.
  • Strong organizational skills, project management experience would be beneficial
  • Strong verbal and written skills with the ability to rationalize complex issues.
  • Strong people-management skills, with the ability to develop and challenge a large professional team.
  • Ability to multi-task and deal with large transactional volume.
