As a Senior Instructional Designer for PDT Global, you will be given the opportunity to play a key role in the rapidly evolving digital learning arm of PDT. Working with an incredible team of digital developers and instructional designers, you will not only contribute to the creative vision of our off the shelf catalogue, but will own the design of client creations.

We are looking for a driven and creative individual to work with our clients to develop innovative and impactful learning solutions that will transform their culture and inspire inclusive action.

You will mentor and review the work of the digital team, as well as collaborate with trainers, associates, account managers and project managers around the globe. You will be the first point of contact of client commissions and a senior member of the learning department.

Building on a number of years of experience as a learning designer, you will have an extensive understanding of the principles of adult learning and of learning technologies. You will be confident with clients, able to consult on learning needs and draw-up novel design approaches. An excellent communicator, you will be able to collaborate effectively with clients and colleagues at all levels.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Research content and work with subject experts and clients to transform content into effective and engaging learning
  • Plan, design and deliver digital learning solutions using instructional design principles to script, storyboard and deploy effective digital solutions
  • Manage the digital development team supporting their personal development and allocating workload
  • Oversee and manage translation contracts – project managing tasks and ensuring translation quality is maintained
  • Act as the lead consultant on bespoke projects for clients – delegating tasks as required across the team, whilst acting as the client point of contact
  • Ensure the delivery of high quality training by monitoring outcomes against any training specifications/outcomes or service level agreements
  • Evaluate design concepts to ensure the recommended solution is the best suited for client objectives and budget
  • Support the account managers in digital sales pitches - providing insight as to why certain concepts were/could be developed and positioned to embed learning.
  • Determine project timelines and project manage all client commissions – ensuring client expectations are set, and development is achievable
  • Effectively manage multiple projects and initiatives from scope to evaluation in closed-loop process.
  • Train and mentor colleagues (and clients where appropriate) in the principles of learning design and in the use of common tools and systems
  • Undertake adhoc projects and participant in company initiatives as required

Quality Assurance

  • Review own work and critique output to ensure the use of correct grammar, consistency and professional publication.
  • Gather feedback from colleagues and clients to evaluate the effectiveness of all created digital products
  • Proof and test all solutions created within the digital learning team – providing feedback to colleagues as required
  • Compare market providers and conduct financial analysis to support procurement projects
  • Contribute to the annual business planning for digital services, proposing changes/developments in line with latest trends in learning technology

Communications and Relationships

  • Build and maintain a constructive and positive relationship with all services
  • Liaise with external suppliers to maintain partnership relationships and ensure continued development and support of learning technologies products

Professional and Personal Development

  • Critically reflect on own competence and actively participate in regular performance reviews
  • Identify and participate in learning and development opportunities to enhance personal skillset
  • Attend learning and technology events/exhibitions/seminars to remain current with market developments and increase market awareness.

The post holder will have an excellent understanding of andragogical theories and be able to use those theories to inform design. They will be an insightful and creative individual who can design and develop various digital learning solutions in an ever changing, fast-paced environment. At their core, the post holder is an adult learning expert and a creative, analytical problem solver with a passion for excellent learning experiences.

As part of a global organisation, they will have interactions with a variety of teams and individuals at all levels, both internally and externally. Therefore, they should be a strong communicator, both written and verbal, and be effective working in a team environment.
